Our Group organizes the 18th Euromeeting. On the one hand, we are going to have a working meeting: The Studies and Working Group (GET) will draw up the conclusions about «Pensions in Europe» and the General Assembly will deal with «The Active Ageing». The chosen topic that is going to be put into practice by the European Parliament is: «2012, The Active Ageing and the Intergenerational Solidarity year». On the other hand, our annual appointment is going to take place in a cheerful and tourist atmosphere. We have organised the following visits: Lisbon, a city with a special charm whose monuments hide a passionate history. We are going to visit the most emblematic monuments and places such as the Bélem district, the Commerce Square, the Marquis of Pombal Square, Eduardo the VII Park, the Monastery of Jéronimos, Cascais, Cabo Roca, Estoril, the Arrabida Natural Park and Sesimbra. We are going to spend a full day in Évora, UNESCO World Heritage Centre, where not only we are going to see the Roman Temple, the Cathedral and the Church of Bones; but also Óbidos, Nazaré-Batalha and Fátima. Without forgetting its gastronomy: The Torres Vedras confectionery, the bacalhau, its typical dish (coldfish), the Ginja (cherry liqueur), the renowned wines of Azeitao and Oporto towns. And the amusing nights of FADO.
